Oma L. White, age 85, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Dudley, died at 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 3, 2008, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. White was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Broseley, the daughter of the late Jack and Ruth Carroll Roe. On May 24, 1939, she married Woodrow W. White in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1998. She is also preceded by a son, Carl; her parents; two sisters; and three brothers.

Mrs. White had lived in the Dudley area most of her life where she was a member of the Dudley Community Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed going to church, spending time with her family and gardening. She always had a smile on her face and thought that there was nothing she could not accomplish.

Surviving are three daughters, Connie Wieda-Stark of St. Peter, Ill., Dolores Stringer of Park Hills and Lovetia White of Poplar Bluff; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Roe of Bonne Terre; and one sister, Viva Brown of Broseley.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Ryan Helton of Dudley officiating.

Interment will be in the Dudley Cemetery in Dudley with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
