Lois Hughes

Lois Hughes, 78, of Morehouse, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at her residence. Born Nov. 6, 1929, in Marked Tree, Ark., to the late Edgar and Lydia Sorters Powell, she was a homemaker. She was married to Thomas Hughes in the year 1952 in Piggott, Ark., and he preceded her in death on June 1, 1989.

She is survived by one son, Jim Hughes of Jackson; one brother, Floyd Hughes of Morley; one sister, Imogene Burton of Michigan City, Ind.; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, in the Nunnelee Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Brown, pastor of Calvary United Pentecostal Church of Jackson officiating.

A private disposition will follow at a later date.
