Larry Marvel

Larry Marvel, the son of the late Sherman and Mae Stelle Marvel, was born in Crowder on July 21, 1945, and died at his home in Bloomfield on November 5, 2008, at the age of 63. years.

Mr. Marvel had lived in Dexter and Bloomfield most all his life. He was a laborer for Walker Construction, and was a past member of the Dexter Eagles Aerie. On Nov. 4, 2008 he accepted the Lord as his savior and was saved. He was a Veteran of the Navy where he served during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are two sons, Scott Marvel of Pacific and Bo Marvel of Dexter; one daughter, Kim Cornell of Dexter; two step-sons, Ed Hare of Bloomfield and Gary Dollar of Sikeston; one step-daughter, Barbara Curtis of Dyersburg, Tenn.; sixteen grandchildren; two sisters, JoAnne Jones of St. Louis, and Mary Lou Kasting of Ellsinore.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Marvel.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, after 9 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Dr. Michael Coleman of Sikeston officiating.

Interment will be in the Missouri Vererans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexteri in charge of arrangements.
