Lee Chamberlain, son of the late Fred Chamberlain and Edna Weedman Brown, was born on Dec. 25, 1926, in Catron and died on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 81.
Mr. Chamberlain was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, owner of Chamberlain Service Station, and a resident of Dexter.,
On Nov. 23, 1948, he was united in marriage to Wanda Taylor in Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Chamberlain survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, other survivors include three sons, Tim Chamberlain and Tom Chamberlain, both of Dexter, and Steve Chamberlain of Sikeston; one brother, Bill Chamberlain of Catron; four sisters, Ruth Wallace of Texas, Janet Burford of Doniphan, Tonya Hill of Poplar Bluff, and Gail Laird of Sikeston; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Freddie Chamberlain, Charles Chamberlain and Don Chamberlain.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Don Kennedy officiating.
Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
