The Daily Statesman's own Marilyn Tucker was honored this week for 40 consecutive years of service to the paper. Tucker started working in the former Stoddard Street Statesman office when she was a teenager, initially as a receptionist, later a proofreader and then a typesetter. She later moved on to the Composition Department, where she remains today. "Marilyn has been a vital asset to our newspaper for four decades and we appreciate not only her expertise, but her positive attitude in dealing with all of the challenges that come with publishing a daily newspaper. We're looking forward to the next 40 years with her!"

Congrats Marilyn!! So happy to see you honored!! It's a shame that everyone doesn't have your work ethics today.
That Marilyn is one fine lady. I would bet she has been around the "The Pig" (potholes and all) and the "Dairy Queen" more than once......
Good for you!!!!!
Congrats, Marilyn!
There have been so many good people to work with at the Statesmen. I count you and the late Elaine Purcell among the best.
The Dexter office is indeed fortunate to have such a dedicated, knowledgeable and upbeat person -- and for SO long! (lol). Most marriages can't touch that record and you didn't even have to say "I do!"
Best in the Biz!
