Jerry Edward Park

Jerry Edward Park, the son of J. D. and Edith Griffin Parks, was born in Oran, on Jan. 17, 1943, and died at the John J. Pershing Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on Nov. 13, 2008, at the age of 65.

Mr. Park had lived in Texas for 17 years where he owned his own mobile home service business in Midland. He moved back to Puxico six years ago. He was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church in Midland, Tx. and had attended the Providence Baptist Church near Puxico. He was an ordained minister and had served as pastor at churches in the Puxico area. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and had served in Japan, Thailand and Germany during his six years of service.

Surviving are his parents, J. D. and Edith Parks of Puxico; one daughter, Julia C. Wiblin of Dallas, Tx.; one step-son, Paul Grant of Yakima, Wa.; one step-daughter, Lisa Strehlow of Grapevine, Tx.; six step-grandchildren; one sister, Hermena Holigan of Dallas, Tx.

Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 16, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with Elder Donald Adams of Matthews officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
