Dorothy L. Spears

Dorothy L. Spears, daughter of the late Issac Perryman and Barbara Jane Trippt Perryman, was born on Feb. 24, 1924 in Biggers, Ark., and died on Nov. 18, 2008 at the age of 84.

Mrs. Spears was a member of the New Bethel Church in Dexter, a homemaker, and a former resident of Dexter.

On Jan. 5, 1957, she was united in marriage to Grady Spears in Tunica, Miss., and he survives of the home.

Besides her husband, other survivors include one step-daughter, Sarah Chandler of Cabot, Ark., three step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Perryman, Issac Perryman and Charles Perryman; also by four sisters, Sarah Cox, Agnes Edwards, Martha Hager and Ethel Fox.

Visitation will take place at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from noon until 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008. Funeral services will then be conducted on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Clifford Wray officiating. Interment will follow at the Dunklin County memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
