Molestation charges filed

BENTON, Mo. -- Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said Tuesday in a news release that a Benton man is in custody, charged with sexual offenses dating to 1999, with the most recent occurring in October of this year.

Walter said Velton L. Taylor, 64, of rural Benton is in custody in the Scott County Jail, charged with first-degree statutory sodomy, first-degree sexual misconduct and two counts of second-degree child molestation. Bond has been set at $100,000.

According to sheriff's investigators, Taylor's alleged activities were revealed when several children from one family were taken for a safe exam in late November.

The exam and interviews revealed alleged sexual offenses against three juveniles and one adult.

How can people enjoy doing this to children? It just makes me sick to read about these kind of stories. Thank GOD his sorry @$$ got busted. Hope he pays dearly for this when he meets his maker.

I truly believe that if the evidence is solid proof, like DNA or video(seems these pervs like to tape themselves) that they should be shot on the courthouse square on the first Tuesday of every month. I would donate my time and rounds to help with this problem.

I agree, child molestor's should be dealt a good hand of death, but this man isnt a child molestor. I have known this man for over half my life, and i know the situation behind the story. This man is put innocently behind bars based on lies from a little girl that is being coaxed by her mother to do so because they got kicked out. Myself, i have served in the U.S. military, been in Iraq for 14 months, and looked death in his eyes, so i am a credible person not just some benton junkie, so you all can put your guns down on this one.
