Densil O. Morgan, Sr., son of the late Earnest Morgan and Alma Robinson Morgan, was born on Jan. 29, 1938, at Puxico and died in the Southeast Missouri Hospital at Cape Girardeau on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at the age of 70.

Mr. Morgan was of the Baptist faith, a former maintenance man for Hudson Foods, the manager of rental property and a resident of Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Margie Freeman on June 19, 1993, at Dexter. Mrs. Morgan survives of the home.

Besides his wife, survivors include three sons, Densil Morgan, Jr., and Arthur Ray Morgan, both of Dexter, and David Eugene Morgan of Bloomfield; three step-sons, John Edward Stephens, Jr., of Wagoner, Okla., Tony Lee Stephens of Dexter and Virgil Freeman of Oak Ridge; two brothers, John Morgan of Tucumcari, N.M., and Larry E. Morgan of Punta Gorda, Fla.; three sisters, Emma Hyten of Cottontown, Tenn., Arlene Taylor of Broseley and Barbara Bailey of Fall Creek, Wis.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Earnest Morgan, Wilburn Morgan, Robert Morgan and Arthur Ray Morgan; and two sisters, Velva Bright and Lois Woolard.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter and funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lester Clayton officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Stoddard County Children's Home.
