Mary Ellen Jennings, daughter of the late Joe Wilmath and Betty Byrd Wilmath was born on Sept. 15, 1934 at Bernie and died at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center on Dec. 16, 2008, at the age of 74.

Mrs. Jennings was a homemaker and was a member of the White Oak Grove General Baptist Church of rural Bernie.

She was united in marriage to James Dale Jennings on Sept. 30, 1950. He survives of the home in Rural Bernie.

Other survivors include one son, Larry Dale Jennings of St. Charles, Ill.; two daughters, Patricia Marchbanks of Barlett, Tenn., and Betty Jo Hux of Essex; two brothers, James Wilmath of Elburn, Ill., and Jerry Wilmath of Michigan; two sisters, Linda Burger of Flint, Mich., and Peggy Estep of Holland, Mich.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Leo Wilmath; and one grandson, Matthew James Jennings.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 from 10:30 a.m. until noon.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. M. C. Moore officiating.

Interment will follow in Dexter's Chalk Bluff Cemetery.
