Paul August Rinck III was born on July 9, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pa. and died on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 in Miami, Fla. at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with kidney cancer.
Mr. Rinck was a former resident of Dexter, where he raised his family before returning to Miami in recent years. He accommodated many of his Missouri friends with voyages to the Bahamas aboard his sailboat in recent years while residing in Miami.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Serig Rinck, his son, Paul of Dexter, his daughters; Kelly Rinck of Anchorage, Alaska and Amber (Tim) Barrett of Maryville, Tn. Also surviving are his stepsons, Shannon and Shawn Serig of Miami, Fla., his sister, Karen (Richard) Blomster of Brandon, Fla., and his former wife and mother of his children, Jackie Mahan Rinck of Dexter.
Paul loved all things mechanical and had a degree in engineering from Georgia Tech. He loved to sail and be on the water captaining his sailboat with his family and friends. It was said that if Paul couldn't ride it, drive it, sail it, or build it, he wasn't interested in it.
Paul's strength, courage and passion for life were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Arrangements will be handled by Caballro Rivero Woodlawn Funeral Home in Miami, Fla., with a celebration of Paul Rinck's life planned for January 9, 2009 in Brandon Fla. at the residence of his sister, Karen Blomster.
