Wanda Adkins, daughter of the late Ephriam Robinett and Opal Thelma Trent Robinett was born on July 21, 1929 at Flint and died at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Dec. 24, 2008, at the age of 79.

Mrs. Adkins was a homemaker and a member of the White Oak Grove General Baptist Church where she has served as treasurer for over 30 years.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Rudolph Adkins at Piggott, Ark., on Jan. 10, 1948. Mr. Adkins preceded his wife in death on March 23, 1999.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Gene Adkins of Seattle, Wash., Randal Dean Adkins of Miami Shores, Fla.. and Kenneth Bruce Adkins of Dexter; one daughter, Sherry Lynn Gregory of Bernie; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Other than by her parents and her husband , she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud Robinett and Kenneth Robinett; two sisters, Dorothy Bratcher and Wilma Lock.

Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, from 5-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, starting at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie with Rev. M. C. Moore officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in rural Dexter.
