Jessie James Griesmer

Jessie James Griesmer, 73, of Jacksonville, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009. He was born Feb. 27, 1935 in Heber Springs, Ark., to the late Oscar and Grace Steele Griesmer. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Griesmer; three brothers; and two sisters. He was a retired veteran in the United States Air Force and an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara L. Mann Griesmer; three children; Donna Rees of Jacksonville, Lois Toney of Jacksonville, and James Griesmer of Tennessee. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and two sisters Maxine Laure and Barbara Ransom, both of Missouri.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at McArthur Assembly of God, with Reverend Larry Burton officiating.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at the funeral home. Interment will be 4:00 p.m. in Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri.
