Beatrice Campbell

Beatrice Campbell, daughter of the late Irving Osbern Bland and Mary Ellen Wilson Bland, was born on Nov. 10, 1922, at Fisk and died in the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau on Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at the age of 86.

Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Second General Baptist Church where she served as best she could when asked, a former bank bookkeeper and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to William E. "Bill" Campbell on July 10, 1948, at Clay County, Ark. Mr. Campbell preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2000.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Sue Coleman of Memphis, Tenn.; two granddaughters and spouses, Denise and Mark McKee of Germantown, Tenn., and Kelly and Scott Bankhead of Asheboro, N.C.; five great-grandchildren, Brennan McKee, Kendall McKee, Alec Bankhead, Sarah Bankhead and Karson Bankhead.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Rev. Thurman William Bland; and one sister, Anna Thayer.

Visitation was held from 12:30-2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joshua Carpenter officiating.

Interment followed in the Brown's Chapel Cemetery at Broseley.
