Bennie Leon Plunk was born June 30, 1945, in Toccopola, Miss., the son of the late George Edward Plunk and Vallie Louise Snider Plunk Inmon, and died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He had been a resident of Campbell. On July 12, 2003, he was united in marriage to Debra Diane Warren in Clarkton, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include his wife, Debbie Plunk of Campbell; two sons, Benjamin Plunk of Aurora and Christopher Plunk of Gary, Ind.; one daughter, Amy Plunk of Springfield; one step-daughter, Danielle Merciel of Campbell; four brothers, Joe Plunk of Central City, Ky., Ed White of Rockford, Ill., Jake Wade of St. Louis and Gary Wade of Blytheville, Ark.; four sisters, Susan Gjertsen of Woodberry, Minn., Becky Pytlik of Mckena, Ill., Tina Plunk and Kim Keirsey, both of Dexter; step-mother, Flo Plunk of Dexter; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Plunk and Ronnie Wade; and his step-father, Toy Inmon.
Visitation was held after 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Bradshaw Chapel in Malden with Rev. Mark Powell officiating.
Interment will follow at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with military rites.
