Robert Don Midkiff, Sr.

Robert Don Midkiff, Sr., son of the late George Thomas Midkiff and Katherine Davis Midkiff, was born Feb. 4, 1948, at Sikeston and died in Southeast Hospital at Cape Girardeau on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at the age of 60.

Mr. Midkiff was a member of the New Bethel General Baptist Church near Dexter, a mechanic with Griffin Enterprises at Advance, and a resident of rural Dexter.

He was first united in marriage to Sandra Kay Coleman on March 29, 1969, at St. Louis. She preceded him in death on Nov. 24, 1994. He was then married to Kimberly Hubbard on Dec. 2, 1995, at Dexter. Kim survives of the home near Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert D. Midkiff, Jr., of Essex and Zachary Midkiff of the home; three daughters, Glenna Cozart of St. Louis, Tate Midkiff and Lexa Midkiff, both of the home; five sisters, Margie Morgan of Dexter, Kay Hughes of Advance, Donna Ray and Melinda Midkiff, both of Sikeston, and Mary Buckley of Miner; his father and mother-in-law, Roger and Judy Hubbard of Dexter.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Dean Williams officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
