Mr. Taylor had lived in Louisville, Ky., where he had been a service station operator and a member of the Lions Club. He moved to Dexer in 1999, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
In 1966 he was married to Clara Barnes in Grayridge.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Taylor of Dexter; one son, Bobby Joe Taylor of Arkansas; one daughter, Margaret Ann Massey of Tennessee; five step-daughters, Beulah Berry of Bloomfield, Missouri, Betty Cruse of Gray Ridge, Missouri, Barb Bryant of Rockford, Ill., Bonnie Crumpecker of Morehouse, Brenda Robbins of Spotsvania, Va.; two step-sons, Calvin Taylor of Bloomfield, Carlis Taylor of Shepherdsville, Ky.; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; one brother, Wilburn Taylor of Nebraska; two sisters, Pearlene Bishop of St. Louis and Martha Latham of Bernie.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Dillard and Harold Taylor; and one sister, Virginia Stout.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, after 10 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Shane Mallard of Dexter officiating.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
