Mary Northcutt, daughter of the late Finis Minehart and Minnie Lape Minehart, was born on Aug. 25, 1920, at La Valle and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at the age of 88.
Mrs. Northcutt was a member of the Faith Fellowship Bible Way Assembly at Dexter, a former nurse's aide at Vintage Villa Nursing Home in Dexter, the former past-president of the Dexter Eagles Auxiliary and a resident of Dexter.
She was united in marriage to Malcolm Northcutt on Aug. 23, 1945, at Gideon. Mr. Northcutt preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1969.
She is survived by two daughters, Dian Underwood of Wappapello and Theresa Frost of Puxico; one step-daughter, Imogene Pennington of Chesterfield; one son, Luther Johnson of Hot Springs, Ark.; one step-son, Hoyt Northcutt of Malden; one brother, Earnest "Butch" Minehart of Kewanee; one sister, Christine Isbell of Paragould, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kimberly Frost; two brothers, Bill Minehart and Charley Minehart; and one sister, Beulah Kelley.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Glen Epps officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery at Lilbourn.
