Carol M. Vandiver, the daughter of the late Norman Magee and Blanche Capps Magee, was born on Dec. 25, 1938 in Stoddard County and died on Jan. 29, 2009 at her residence in Bloomfield at the age of 70.

She was married Jan. 13, 1956 to Bobby Vandiver at Circle City.

Mrs. Vandiver was a retired lineworker for Elder's Manufacturing and a hostess at Taco Bell.

She is survived by one son, Michael Vandiver of Bloomfield; by two daughter, Deborah Coggins of Bloomfield; Denise Griffin of Jackson; by one brother, Don Magee of Oak Ridge and by two grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Elaine Choate.

Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009 at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter or at the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield, dependent upon the current power situation due to the recent ice storm. Funeral services will follow visitation at 3 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.
