Ruth Ellen Lee, the daughter of the late Albert and Mattie Norma Haley Williamson, was born near Essex on Dec. 1, 1918, and died at the Puxico Nursing Center in Puxico on Feb. 11, 2009, at the age of 90.

Mrs. Lee had lived in Essex and Puxico all her life. She had worked at the Comeau Nursing Home and at Elders Manufacturing before her retirement. She was a member of the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico and was the oldest living member of the church.

On Jan. 4, 1936, she was married to Walton Paul Lee in Dexter. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2003.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Ron Faries of Broseley; one son, Bob Lee of Electra, Texas; four grandchildren, Detricia Lee, Cheryleen Cope, Rhonda and Tim Acre, Paula and Mike Hefner; four great-grandchildren, Brook Shelnutt, Ashlee and Abby Acre, Hayden Lee Hefner; and one nephew, Jerry Triplett. Other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Buck, Dick and Wilburn Williamson; and three sisters, Essie Triplett, Dess Barney and Kathleen Reynolds.

Visiitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield officiating.

Interment will be in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
