David Houston Tanner, 50, of Gipsy, was born Aug. 3, 1958, at Hayti, the son of Ivan "Fuzz" and mavis Tanner Britton and died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2009, at his home.
David was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Brush Creek Missionary Baptist Church and also a member of the Zalma Masonic Lodge #545.
David and Kimberly Jackson were united in marriage on June 2, 1984, at Advance, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include his mother, Mavis Britton of Dexter; two sons, Mark Houston Tanner of Gipsy and David Ellison of Sikeston; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sis and Jerry Jackson of Gipsy; three brothers, Gary Britton, Stephen Britton and Kevin Britton, all of Dexter; and two sisters, June Cochran of Sikeston and Jeanie Henson of Bloomfield.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Billy.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance with Rev. Danny Collins officiating.
Interment followed at Berrong Cemetery near Gipsy.
