Shirley Ann McGehee, daughter of the late Ules Belcher and Virginia Spencer Belcher, was born Dec. 21, 1937, at East Prairie and died Feb. 17, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was raised by her grandparents, M.H. and Edith Bennett in East Prairie.

She had been a nurse's aid and worked as a waitress at Kellet's and Cream Castle. She had been a foster grandparent at Morehouse Elementary.

She graduated from East Prairie High School in 1956.

On May 29, 1979, she was married to Richard McGehee in East Prairie, and he survives. Other survivors include three sons, William Stewart of Benton, Mike Stewart of Garfield, and Cary Stewart of Anniston; two daughters, Tammy Eifert and Kathy Haynes of Sikeston; two sisters, Bety Sue Bright and Betty Funk of East Prairie.

The visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Sister Glenys Duckworth, pastor of Circle City Pentecostal Church, officiating.

Interment will take place Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
