Mr. Diebold was a Veteran of the United States National Guard, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He was united in marriage to Lois Stuart in May of 1981 at Jackson. Mrs. Diebold survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife survivors include five children, Anton "Tad" Diebold of Dexter, Chris Diebold and wife Tammy of Jonesboro, Ark., Charlotte Glasener of Park Hills, Cory Diebold and Colby Diebold, both of Dexter; two brothers, Morrell Diebold of Cape Girardeau and Calvin Diebold of Kelso; one sister, Joyce Welter of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Anthony, Paige and Nathan Diebold of Jonesboro, Ark., Rhonda and Levi Diebold of Dexter, and Damion Glasener of Park Hills.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald A. Diebold.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, from 5-8 p.m.
A prayer service will be held shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter.
Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery with Father David Dohogne officiating.
