James Grant Litzler, son of the late John H. Litzler and Alma Francis Litzler, was born on May 9, 1921, in Dudley and died in the Otterbein Lebanon Retirement Center in Lebanon, Ohio on March 27, 2009, at the age of 82.
Mr. Litzler was a former postmaster in Dudley, a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, a member of the Dudley Church of God and a resident of Maineville, Ohio, formerly of Dudley.
He was united in marriage to Theoda Williams on July 11, 1946, in Charleston. Mrs. Litzler survives of the home in Maineville, Ohio.
Besides his wife, other survivors include three sons, James Gary Litzler of Ohio, Richard Alan Litzler of Dexter, and Myron Lynn Litzler of West Virginia; by six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Pansy Edmondson and Grace Elizabeth Litzler.
Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009.
Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday, April 3, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Jerry L. Medcalf officiating.
Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
