Norma Serena Woodiel, daughter of the late Thomas P. and Roxie Rittenberry Davis, was born in Aid on June 10, 1915, and died at the Cypress Point Healthcare in Dexter April 9, 2009, at the age of 93.

Mrs. Woodiel had lived in the Bloomfield area most of her life. She had worked as a babysitter and as a cook at Hester's Restaurant. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield and a member of the Dorcas Circle at the church.

She was married to Roy Underwood. He died on Feb. 5, 1968. She then married Reuben Woodiel. He died on Feb. 6, 1972.

Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, John Underwood and Steve and Joyce Underwood, all of Bloomfield; 26 grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren; three step-sons, Elmer and Delmar Underwood, both of Bloomfield, Harold Woodiel of Mexico, three step-daughters, Geneva Grim and Wilma Morrow, both of Dexter, and Ruth Ann Moffit of Poplar Bluff. Other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Francis Berry; one step-son, Bob Woodiel; three brothers, Russell, John and Bill Davis; and three sisters, Ida Souders, Bertie Chancellor and Pansy Jones.

Friends may call on Friday, April 10, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 11, 2009, at 10 a.m. in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Dan Sitze of Bloomfield officiating.

Interment will be in the Lick Creek Cemetery near Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
