N. L. "Bud" Hueckel

N. L. "Bud" Hueckel, son of the late Walter Hueckel and Edna Newby Hueckel was born on Sept. 10, 1922 near Essex and died in the Saint Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau on April 24, 2009, at the age of 86.

Mr. Hueckel was of the Baptist Faith, a farmer, a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, and a resident of rural Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Josephine Koch on Sept. 3, 1949 at Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Hueckel survives of the home near Dexter.

Other than his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Larry Speight of Dexter and Mary and Rod Green of Bernie; two grandchildren, Sarah Moore of Dexter and Dustin Ward of Bernie; one brother, Bill Hueckel of Essex; one sister, Josephine Grim of Kansas City.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Hueckel, Lester Hueckel and Donald Hueckel.

Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2009.

Funeral services were conducted at 11a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Martin Goode officiating.

Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery with full military honors.
