Bennie Joe Jordan, son of the late Carlos F. Jordan and Emma Rongey Jordan was born on Feb. 16, 1932 at Hunter and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on April 27, 2009 at the age of 77.

Mr. Jordan was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, a former salesman with Blackwell-Baldwin in Poplar Bluff, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and a residentof Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Doris Sells on Dec. 19, 1953 at Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Jordan survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Bob Geary of Salem and Kelly and Craig Schaeffer of Atlanta, Ga.; by four grandchildren, Zach Geary, Lindsey Geary, Emma Schaeffer and Jordan Schaeffer; by two great-grandchildren, Sophia Geary and Reese Geary; by one brother, Glen Jordan of Olive Branch, Miss.; by one sister, Maxine Smith of Poplar Bluff.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Joe Jordan.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 9:30 a.m. until 11a.m., Thursday, April 30, 2009. Funeral services will then be conducted at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Dr. Steve Easterwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery

at Hunter, Missouri with full military honors on Thursday at 2 p.m.
