Marsha K. Davisson, 55, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 in Alamogordo.

She was born October 11, 1953 in Cape Girardeau to Alvester Baker and Melba Sander Smith.

Marsha married John W. Davisson of April 15, 1989 in Dexter. They returned to Alamogordo in 2003 where she enjoyed a career of five years at both Community Christian School and Legacy Christian Academy. She served in the library and held various other administrative positions. Her compassion and care for people will be greatly missed.

Marsha also leaves behind her daughter Amy Sacha and her husband, Josiah of Cape Girardeau; by one son, John Davisson Jr. of the family home; by four grandchildren, Chantelle Jackson, Juliette Rothley, Jacob and Zachariah Sacha; by her parents, Alvester Baker and Melba Smith both of Cape Girardeau; by two sisters, Sharon Lindsey of Sedgewickville and Patty Perry of Cape Girardeau: by one brother, Richard Baker of Clarksville, Tennessee and sister-in-law, Judy Slaughter. Marsha also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Renee Baker, who died in 1973.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. , Friday, May 1, 2009 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ed Stoner officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
