Marvin Cullum

Marvin Cullum, son of the late James Cullum and Leoane Lamunion Cullum was born on April 21, 1931 in Bernie and died at his Dexter residence on May 4, 2009 at the age of 78.

Mr. Cullum was a former employee with Swift and Company in Dexter, known currently as Tyson Foods, Inc., as a maintenance supervisor and he was a resident of Dexter.

On March 12, 1952, he was united in marriage to Ruby May Williams in Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Cullum preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 2004.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons; five brothers, Ralph Cullum, Floyd Cullum, Eugene Cullum, Freddie Martin and George McCarthy; by four sisters, Angeline Owens, Mildred Childers, Estell Cullum, and Aletha White.

Survivors include three sons: Rickie Cullum and Tony Cullum, both of Dexter, and Pervia Cullum of Bloomfield; by one daughter, Barbara Jean Worley of Dexter; one brother, Lloyd Cullum of Bloomfield; one sister, Deloris Turner of Gideon; and by 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral home in Dexter from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009. Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Taylor Cemetery in Essex.
