Stelline Gross Tyler, the daughter of the late John and Jessie Darney Scott, was born in Coal Hill, Ark., on Dec. 19, 1924, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on May 3, 2009, at the age of 84.

Mrs. Tyler had lived in California from 1956 to 1980, when she moved to Grayridge. She was a member of the Grayridge General Baptist Church.

She was first married to William Cyrus Gross, he preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1969. She then married Ray D. Tyler, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16. 1978.

Surviving are two daughters, Dortha Shutic of Mequon, Wis., Bertha Ripperdan of Ft. Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, James Scott of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Joe Scott of Grayridge; four sisters, Auline Crabtree of Hartman, Ark., Lourean Rasey of Dexter, Johnnie Davis of Grayridge, and Querita Marvel of Cheyenne, Wyo. Other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha Gosling on Oct. 16, 2004.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Robert Lafferty of Bloomfield officiating.

Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Macey Cemetery in Monette, Ark., with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
