The interrogation of individuals for purchasing pseudoephedrine led to the discovery of a meth lab this week.

According to Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner, Michael W. Houston, 35, of Bloomfield, and Jeremy J. Rossi, 25, of Bernie, were questioned after buying an undetermined amount of pseudoephedrine in the Malden area.

During the questioning, both suspects admitted to the participation in an attempt to manufacture methamphetamine and to having a meth lab in a vehicle located in a garage at a Bernie residence on Tuesday, May 5.

Stoddard County Sheriff's deputies, along with members of the SEMO Drug Task Force, Bootheel Drug Task Force, Malden P.D. and Bernie P.D. went to the Bernie residence. After talking to the owner of the residence, they received permission to search the home.

In the garage of the home, the vehicle containing the meth lab was discovered along with drug paraphernalia for the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Houston and Rossi were arrested and charged with the Class B felony of attempted manufacture of methamphetamine and the Class D felony of possession of drug paraphernalia for the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Both men are currently housed in the Malden Jail awaiting court appearances. Houston's bond was set at $50,000 cash-only. Rossi's bond was set at $35,000 cash-only.

A female, Sierra Decker of Bernie, has also been charged with the Class B felony of attempted manufacture of methamphetamine and the Class D felony of possession of drug paraphernalia for the manufacture of methamphetamine. As of press time, however, Decker was not yet in custody.

If convicted, both Houston and Rossi could face up to 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

told the police where the lab was.yea, they're going to snitch and end up with a slap on the wrists and off they go.then tomorrow or even today the ones who buy the stuff from these two, will just find another loser who makes this stuff and get it from them.and the circle keeps on going.

Tweekers belong in jail, bond to low. Bond for meth should be higher than weed. A good 90day rehab while in jail couldn't hurt either.
