Bobby Gene Adams

Bobby Adams, son of the late Joe and Edna Hope Adams, was born on Sept. 13, 1931, in Malden and died on May 13, 2009 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 77.

Mr. Adams was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the first Assembly of God Church in Dexter and a Dexter resident.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Adams of Willard, and Steven Adams of Springfield; by one daughter, Melody Williams of Springfield; by four brothers, Donald Adams of Festus, Lee Adams of Carbondale, Ill., Paul Adams of Carrolton, Texas and Gary Adams of Blue Springs; by three sisters, Valorie Ross of Greenfield, Ill., Faye Sifford of Midwest City, Ok., and Judi Bess of Dexter; by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, May 15, 2009 from noon until 2 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Rev. Mike Kohlbaker officiating.
