Mildred McCoy, daughter of the late Ira Pucell and Alta Lane Pucell, was born on Aug.31, 1924, in Dexter and died at her residence in Dexter on Friday, May 15, 2009, at the age of 84.

Mildred was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother, and a resident of Dexter.

On Nov. 13, 1941, she was united in marriage to Leon McCoy in Bernie. Mr. McCoy preceded her in death on July 10, 1955.

Survivors include three sons, Gary McCoy and wife Joyce, Rodger McCoy and Danny McCoy and wife Jackie, all of Dexter; three daughters, Carolyn Snider and husband Parvin, Rachel Childers and husband Lawson, all of dexter, Kandy Koechner and husband Kevin of Advance; one sister, Bessie Woodruff of Dexter; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and many friends.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Dennis McCoy, Jimmy McCoy and Darrell McCoy; one sister, Ellen Pullum; one grandson, Jeff White; and one granddaughter, Angela Poe.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2009, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2009, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. James Mallory officiating.

Interment followed in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
