She had lived in Dexter for many years before moving to Puxico 12 years ago. She had worked at Lucas Florist and Nicken's Pharmacy before her retirement and had been a member of the Assembly of God Church in Dexter for many years.
On May 27, 1945, she was married to Truitt Overbey in Dexter. He preceded her in death in August of 1957.
Suviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra and Arthur Norris of Puxico, and Dana Craig of Dexter; three grandsons, Justin Norris of Clarksdale, Miss., John Parker Craig of Madison, Wis., Paul Craig of Dexter; two great-grandchildren, Will and Elizabeth Norris; and one sister, Kathryn Blythe of Dexter. Other relatives and many friends survive.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Myrlee Kinworthy; and one sister, Virginia Harris.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 17, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, May 18, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with Rev. Ken McAnulty of Poplar Bluff and Arthur Norris of Puxico officiating.
Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, in charge of arrangements.
