FARMINGTON -- Cathryn Heil produced a personal best in the high jump and her effort was good enough to propel the Dexter senior to the MSHSAA Class 3 Track and Field Championships May 29-30 at Dwight T. Reed Stadium on the Lincoln University campus is Jefferson City.
Heil cleared 5'2" to take first place in the high jump event at the sectional meet in Farmington this past weekend. She was the only Dexter athlete at the sectional meet to advance to the state tournament even though several Bearcats posted personal best times while others turned in stellar efforts.
"Everyone ran their best and ran their best times of the season," Dexter track coach Jill King commented. "The boys 4x100 relay re-broke their record and the girls also ran their best (time)."

McCoy was also a fifth-place finisher in the 100 meter with a time of 11.5.
The girls 4x100 relay team of Lindsey Hindman, Taylor Martin, Sarah Tolbert and Jessica Satterfield finished 6th with their best time of the season, 52.0.
Martin, a freshman, also earned a 6th place finish in the 100 meter after winning the district title, and Tolbert placed 6th in the hurdles.
"They all did well and had a wonderful season," King said.
