Steven had lived in the Dexter area all his life. He was of the Pentecostal faith and worked as a welder for EMCON Technologies in Dexter for 21 years.
Steven also served in the US Navy for four years.
On Nov. 5, 1987, he was married to Stephanie Dawn Mitchell in Dexter.
Surviving are his wife, Stephanie Dawn Kent of Dexter; one daughter, Amanda Michelle Kent of Dexter; one son, Steven Earl Kent, Jr. of Dexter; his mother, Dorris June Kent-Coffer of Dexter; one sister, Lora Kent- Perkinson of Dexter, and his maternal grandmother, Aretta Tucker of Dexter. Several neices, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call on Sunday, May 31, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Donnie Fowler of Naylor officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
