Delmar Ades Morris

Delmar Ades Morris, son of the late Albert Green and Mary Alice Cartright Morris, was born on May 30, 1921 in Zadock and died at the age of 88 at twin Rivers Regional Medical Center on Saturday, June 13, 2009.

Mr. Morris was a World War II veteran, having served in the US Navy and was a retired express handler for Railway Express. He was a member of the Calvary General Baptist Church in Piggott, Ark.

He was married to Beulah Hasty on Jan. 11, 1944 in Kennett. She preceded him in death on March 28, 1992. He was later married to Anna Ryan Wheeling on Oct. 29, 1999 in Piggott, Ark. and she survives in Kennett.

Other survivors include three sons: Delmar Wayne Morris and Pam of Centralia, Ill, Ricky Morris of Iowa and Donald Ray Morris of Imperial; two daughters, Barbara Gillespie and Bob of Dexter, Patty Morehouse and Ken of Imperial; two step-sons, Curt Wheeling of St. Louis and Rick Wheeling and Tammy of Waynesville; one stepdaughter, Lisa Callis of Carrollton, Ga.

Other survivors include nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Mr. Morris was preceded in death by two brothers: Henry and Vader Morris; six sisters: Elgis Riles, Verbie Rampley, Annie Winchester, Nell Ishmahl, Beulah Frazier and Geneva Fischer.
