Imogene Thompson

Imogene (Cantwell) Thompson, 77, of Dexter died Jun. 17, 2009, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

She was a retired sales associate for Wal-Mart and enjoyed fishing, quilting, reading and bingo. She was of the Southern Baptist faith.

On Oct. 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Thompson. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1977.

Survivors are four sons, Duke Thompson of Possum Grape, Ark., William Thompson of Rockford, Ill., Gilbert Thompson and Jerry Thompson, both of Dexter; one brother, Glen Cantwell of St. Peters; one sister, Alma Watson of St. Charles; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Thompson; parents Duke and Sena (Michles) Cantwell; one daughter Claudetta Fuller; grandson Scott Thompson; brother Elmo Cantwell and twin sister Norma Jean Rodden.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 18, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning, Ark. Service will be Friday, June 19, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Corning.
