Dorothy lived in Michigan for 40 years and returned to Dexter in 1989. She had owned the D & C Cafe in Bernie for many years and had worked at Town & County Super Market. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter.
On Nov. 6, 1948, she was married to Cyril Marchant in Piggott, Ark.
Surviving are her husband, Cyril Marchant of Dexter; three daughters and sons-in-law, Anna Goodboo, Emma and Wayne Razer and Kathy and Vernon Christian, all of Dexter; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Jennifer Marchant of Topeka, Ind., Ed and Becky Marchant of Dexteri; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Amy Blocker of Dexter. Other relatives and friends also survive. Preceding her in death were one brother, Charles Bell; and two sons-in-law, Gene Goodboo and Ronald Masters.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexteri with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.
