Daisy Welch

Daisy Welch, daughter of the late James Cleveland and Talitha Jane White Campbell, was born in Decatur, Ill., on Jan. 3, 1919, and died at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter on June 28, 2009, at the age of 90.

Daisy had lived in Essex and Dexter all her life. She had worked with her husband on the family farm and was a member of the Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter.

On April 9, 1938, she was married to Buddy Welch in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1999.

Surviving are one brother, Evertt Campbell of Dexter; and many special nieces and nephews. Other relatives and friends also survives. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Etta Ingleton, Ruby Breiler; and two brothers, Glen and Albert Campbell.

Visitation will be held on Thursday July 2, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Dale McFarland of Sikeston officiating.
