Richard Duane Haga

Richard Duane Haga, son of the late Herman Lowell Haga and Maria Stanton Hardwick Haga was born on May 21, 1927 at Highland Park, Mich. and died in the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center at Dexter on July 3, 2009 at the age of 82.

Mr. Haga was a former insurance agent in Poplar Bluff for 26 years with Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance Company, a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II and a resident of Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Bonnie Parris Dahl on July 21, 1989 at Bloomfield. Mrs. Haga preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 2009.

He is survived by three sons, Chuck Haga, Mike Haga and Steve Haga, all of Poplar Bluff: by two daughters, Karen Haga and Shelley Haga, both of Poplar Bluff: by two sisters, Pamela Mott of Oxford, Mich. and Paula Stafford of Allen Park, Mich.: by six grandchildren, Elise Swearingen, Amy Swearingen, Ashley Haga, Sean Haga, Dustin Haga and Kristen Haga.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Holly Ann Swearingen.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009. Funeral services will then be conducted at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
