Jimmy Wayne Boone, son of the late, Sherman Boone and Vanita Noyes Boone Conner, was born on Oct. 20, 1942, at Sikeston and died in his residence at Dexter on July 25, 2009, at the age of 66.

Mr. Boone was a member of the New Bethel General Baptist Church near Dexter, the terminal manager for Hart Transport in Dexter, a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of Kenady-Hanks American Legion Post #59. He was also a member of Dexter Elks Lodge #2439, Dexter Masonic Lodge #532 and was well known in the area for his ability to shoe horses.

He was united in marriage to Patricia Bowling Rodgers on Dec. 6, 1985, at Bloomfield. Mrs. Boone survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Kevin Boone and Shannon of O'Fallon, Bradley Wayne Boone and Lynn of Campbell, Kenneth Darin Rodgers and Peg of Dexter, and Joshua Wade Rodgers and Amber of Dexter; one brother, David Boone and wife Linda of Batesville, Ark.; one sister, Leslie Palmer and husband, Dave of Syracuse, Ind.; 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dean Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military honors.
