Glendell Ray Richard, son of Eula Mae Hatchel Carson and the late George Richard, was born on March 8, 1946, at Parma and died at his residence in Bernie on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at the age of 63.

Mr. Richard was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a retired truck driver and was of the Full Gospel faith.

He was united in marriage to Charlotte Ferguson on Dec. 8, 1978, at Bernie. She survives of the home in Bernie.

Besides his wife, survivors include his mother, Eula Mae Carson of Bernie; one son, David Ford of Gideon; one daughter, Holly Schwent of Bernie; five brothers, Doyle Richard of Bernie, Darrell Carson of Malden, Bobby Carson of Malden, Roger Carson and Ronnie Carson, both of Bernie; five sisters, Jeanette Schmieg of Granite City, Ill., Shirley Alvis of Bernie, Nora Fuemmeler of St. Joseph, Brenda Owens of Bernie and Pam Stitz of Bloomfield; 13 grandchildren, Lara Ford, Summer Schwent, Bubby Schwent, Skyler "Little Man" Schwent, Shelby Brown, Benjamin Brown, Lindsey Ford, Logan Ford, Shae Soto, Elania Ford, Nick Stoling, Jaylynn and Leeann Ford.

He was preceded in death other than by his father by one brother, Chester Richard.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie with interment to follow in Bernie Cemetery.
