Robert "Jack" Wilson, son of the late Charlie Monroe and Bertha Lillian Miflin Wilson was born in Clarkton on Dec. 14, 1924, and died at his home in Puxico on Aug. 7, 2009, at the age of 84.

Mr. Wilson had lived in Puxico since 1960 after living in Morehouse and Dexter. He was a member of the Puxico Church of Christ. He and his wife owned the Wilson Five & Dime and operated Wilson Pump Service until his retirement. He had also worked for Burge Electric for many years. He was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed hunting, riding horses, watching boxing and the St. Louis Cardinals. His most enjoyable time was spent with his grandsons.

On March 26, 1949 he was married to Betty High in Piggott, Ark.

Surviving are his wife Betty Wilson of Puxico, two daughters: Debbie Jane (Jackie) Foster and Tammy Kay (Brian) Franklin. both of Puxico; three grandsons: Shaun Robert (Jo) Foster, Jerry Lee (Cristen) Foster and Ryan Franklin; two great-grandchildren: Dana Foster, Hannah Foster and Lily Foster due in Sept.; and one brother, James Wilson of Salcedo.

He was preceded in death by a twin sister, Lena Hutson; three sisters, Corda Key, and Frieda Morgan Florene Morgan; and by two brothers, John Wilson and Paul Powers.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 9 , 2009, after 5 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico with Bro. Keith Sandlin of Poplar Bluff officiating.

Interment will be in the Puxico City Cemetery in Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
