Mrs. Gromer had lived in Southeast Missouri all her life. She was a member of the Word of Faith Church in Bernie. She was a wonderful and loving mom and grandmother and will be missed by family and friends.
On Dec. 21, 1946, she was married to Harold E. Gromer. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2005.
Surviving are one son, Roger Gromer of Bernie; three daughters, Connie Gromer, Charlotte (Jerry) Yates, and Janie Gromer, all of Bernie; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Christine Clay of New Orleans, La. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by six brothers: Pervia, Troy, Verl, Chester, Willard and Roy Williams; and five sisters: Ruby Cullum, Beulah Watkins, Eulah Williams, Bertha Fielder and Nellie Robertson.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Bro. Dale Hartle of Bernie officiating.
Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
