Jean Ann Grubbs, daughter of the late Bill Taylor and Veda Jessie Minehart Taylor was born on Nov. 17, 1929 at Parma and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Aug. 12, 2009 at the age of 79.

Mrs. Grubbs was of the Pentecostal faith, a housewife, mother and resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Jake Grubbs on March 12, 1945 at Parma. Mr. Grubbs survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Russell Grubbs of Bloomfield, Roger Grubbs and Donald Grubbs, both of Dexter; by five daughters, Christine Grubbs of Doniphan, Patsy McCoy, Wanda "Cookie" Grubbs, Mary Tucker and Debra "Debbie" Grubbs, all of Dexter; by two brothers, Wayne Taylor of Lampe and Dennis Taylor of Poplar Bluff; by two sisters, Virginia Lee Hillyard of St. Joseph, La., and Barbara Sawyer of Poplar Bluff: by 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Diana West Holderfield and Derek Lee Tucker.

Visitation will take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2009 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Karen Oldham officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
