Amanda Jean Blackburn, 35, of Dexter died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter. She was born May 10, 1974, in Hayti to Willie Wilkerson and Egenia Carol Brown. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Cape Girardeau. She first married Earl Lee Godwin in White Water in November 1995; then she married David Blackburn in St. Joseph on Oct. 31, 2006.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Willie Wilkerson and Andrea Wilkerson of Morley; her mother and step-father, Eugenia Carol Brown Crowe and Terry Crowe of Dexter; three sons, Logan Hunter Godwin and Collin Michael Godwin, both of Branson, and William Robert Blackburn II of Cape Girardeau; one brother and sister-in-law, Dino and Susan Wilkerson of Lilbourn; one sister and brother-in-law, Misty and Phil Ecker of Dittmer;and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Rev. Bill Burke, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene in Cape Girardeau officiating.
The family has requested that donations be made to The Amanda Blackburn Memorial Fund at any U.S. Bank.
