Puxico woman jailed for DWI, threat to officer

A Puxico woman is behind bars today following a vehicle stop Tuesday.

At 7:20 a.m., Trooper Jay Parsley pulled over 28-year-old Sara L. West of Puxico when he observed her traveling southbound on Hwy. 51 at 69 miles per hour and running off the side of the roadway.

According to the criminal complaint, when Parsley made contact with West "her speech was slurred and her eyes were bloodshot and glassy." He adds that he did not notice an odor of intoxicants on her.

West reportedly admitted she had taken Xanax and Prozac at 6 a.m.. After failing sobriety tests, West was placed under arrest.

Parsley then began to search her vehicle.

"Located in the center console and in West's purse were numerous pills," the report states. "The pills were loose in the purse and not in bottles prescribed to West."

Among the pills were Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril), Alprazolam (Xanax), Clonazepam (Klonopin) and Skelaxin.

After being transported to the Stoddard County Jail, West reportedly refused a chemical test of her urine.

In the warrant request, filed Tuesday by Prosecuting Attorney Briney Welborn, it is reported that at some point during the arrest, West threatened both Parsley and his family.

West is charged with four counts of the Class C felony possession of a controlled substance, one count of the Class A misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, one count of the Class B misdemeanor DWI-drug intoxication and one count of the Class C felony of making a terrorist threat.

She is also being charged as a prior and persistent offender due to convictions in 2006 and 2008 for credit card theft and forgery.

West is still on parole for those charges, so she is also charged with parole violation.

Bond is set at $50,000 cash-only, but because the probation violation has no bond, she will remain in Stoddard County Jail.

She will appear before Judge Joe Satterfield for arraignment Thursday morning.

Doubt she will be smiling like this in front of the Hon. Judge Satterfield.

She was probably still floating a few feet off the ground when this shot was taken...and she won't be when she is in front of the judge.

Lord, what a mugshot. LOL That just cracks me up.

This time, keep the woman behind bars!! She's a danger to society and herself!

She doesn't appear to be too upset at the time of her mug shot. I wonder if she was on her way to buy flowers or something. Thats pretty early in the morning to be driving around high. It's a good thing they got her off the road when they did. Perscription pills do seem to be a big problem in Stoddard County for some reason.

But I have to wonder what kind of threat you have to make for it to be considered a terrorist threat. Maybe she should be sent to Guantanamo Bay.

I glad they got her off the road. I live on Hwy 51 and my baby gets on the school bus there every morning.

And, I hope the Judge throws the book at her.

Any connections to the florist drug distribution? is she the snitch?

If you want a good story, check into the number of arrests and how many she's walked away from! Some have totally disappeared! At one point, she walked out after being charged with multiple felonies at one time! But again...family friends of the court in Stodard County! Let's see what happens with this one...maybe something will actually stick and she will get what she TRULY deserves. Other aliases are Sara Bradley, Sara Chubb, and sometimes her own sisters name. Check out the number of times in rehab, surely to escape any punishment. Should be interesting to see how this ends up!

That might explain why she is smiling in the mug shot...I don't know the lady (tongue in cheek here), but users are users...whether it's drugs or people they are using...and I have no respect for them.

Cross between Quentin Terrentino and Alfred E. Newman. Judge Joe won't take it easy on her.....

"Get a Life" posted an interesting phrase..."family friends of the court in Stoddard County." If this chronic offender has been excused because of connections with the court, it is a tragedy. People like her are responsible for deaths of innocent people every day. No matter who they are, what family they are part of, or what level friendships they have in any county court, they should be dealt with severely. People like this are truly a menace to society and cause immeasurable hurt, harm, and expense.

Get a life needs to get a life. Family friends of the court would mean that a judge has made rulings in favor of this female piece of white trash instead of her serving a sentence for wrong doing. I would bet a good chunk O change that has not happened and Get a life is one of those on here who can't get past the chip sitting on their shoulder. In their minds, those with get by with all crime and wrongdoing, while others pay a price for illegal activity. Class envy is hilarious and cracks me all the way up.

So why is it not working this time?

And I thought you had to be part of the elite class to stay out of trouble in StoCo?

I do like that Sara is wearing Puxico colors though. Go Indians!
