Wanda Ruth Carwile, the daughter of the late Floyd Gaines and Gladys Effie Wilburn Clark, was born in Dexter on Jan. 8, 1937, and died at the Cypress Point Nursing Facility in Dexter on Aug. 31, 2009, at the age of 72 years.

She attended church at the First General Baptist Church in Dexter and was a member of the Dexter Eagles Lodge.

Surviving are one son Larry (Gina) Carwile of Dexter; one daughter, Vickie (Kevin) Kell of Jackson; four grandchildren, Jason and Jessica Kell of Jackson and Christina and Logan Carwile of Dexter; two brothers, Gene Gaines of Dexter, Marlin "Moe" Gaines of Sikeston; one sister: Patsy Wills of Festus; a very special friend, Bob Rushing of Dexter. Other relatives and many friends survive to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, after 10 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.

Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
