Albert Kruse, son of the late Benjamin Kruse and Mary Koechig Kruse was born on Sept. 29, 1910 in Dexter and departed this life in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Sept. 17, 2009 at the age of 98.

Mr. Kruse was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent and the Church Board. He was a Stoddard County farmer, he served on the Cotton Producers Board, the University Of Missouri Stoddard County Extension Board, the Stoddard County #6 Ditch Board and the Farmers Elevator Board. He was a 75 year member of the Dexter Masonic Lodge #532 where he was a Past-Worshipful Master, a 72 year member of the Dexter Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #311 where he served as Past Worthy Patron. He was active in the Scottish Rite, Shriners and DeMolay. He had also been active in the leadership of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Rainbow Girls.

He was first united in marriage to Lena McQuary on Jan. 29, 1942 at Dexter and to this union two children were born. Mrs. Kruse preceded him in death on April 1, 1980. He was then married to Irene Estes on Nov. 30, 1980 at Dexter. Mrs. Kruse survives him of the home in Dexter.

He is survived by one son, Charles Kruse and wife, Pam of Dexter; by one daughter, Linda Lee Brazel and husband, Jim of San Antonio, Texas; by three step-daughters, Mary Faith Vowels of Dexter, Shirley Lundy and Jo Ann Chiste both of Summerfield, Florida; by one brother, Frank Kruse of Ft. Worth, Texas; by three grandchildren and spouses, Scott and Kerri Kruse, Craig and Yvonne Brazel, Dr. Chris Brazel; by one granddaughter in law, Amy and Bruce Christian; by four great-grandchildren, Addie Kruse, Andie Kruse, Etta Brazel and Jati Brazel; by six step-grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Ben Kruse: by one brother, Walter Kruse; by one sister, Grace Lambert; by one step-son, Jack Estes; by one step- grandson, Brad Estes.

Masonic Services will be conducted at 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with public visitation immediately following the Masonic service. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 in the First United Methodist Church in Dexter with Rev. Louis Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
